HomePad for Apple Home
If you want a fixed smart-home display or a central control station for Apple Home, you do not have to wait for new hardware. Controller Hub turns a dedicated iPhone or iPad into your own Apple Home center - with automatic Workflows, continuous Charts, and States that remain available in the background. It does not replace your Apple Home hub, but adds a visible, interactive control surface on top of it.
Reuse hardware you already own and turn it into a dedicated control device for Apple Home.
Controller Hub does more than display your home - it runs Workflows automatically, records chart history, and keeps States available.
You do not need a future product or a new ecosystem. Your setup can start right now.
The Controller Hub is a dedicated feature that enables one of your devices to function as the central engine for automated workflows and historical charts.
Workflows cover the same use cases as Apple Home rules but offer significantly more functionality and flexibility.
Yes, if you're using an Apple TV as a Home Hub, you can install Controller on it and utilize it as a Controller Hub. However, HomePods are not supported, as apps cannot be installed on them.
Locks and security systems cannot be controlled on an Apple TV, even when used as a Controller Hub. This is due to Apple's restrictions, which limit access to these types of accessories on the device.
Since the Controller app needs to stay open on the Hub device, we recommend dedicating a device exclusively for this purpose, like an old iPhone, a wall-mounted iPad, or a separate Apple TV.
Select a device to act as a Controller Hub, then enable Controller Hub inside the app on that device.
You can use any compatible iPhone, iPad, or Apple TV as a Controller Hub. It's recommended to use a device that can stay powered on and connected.
Yes, the app must remain open and active on the Hub device, and the device should not be turned off or locked.
If the app is closed or the device is turned off, the Controller Hub will stop, and workflows will not run until the app is reopened.
Controller Hub can only be active on one device per home.
The home cannot be changed on a device with active Controller Hub.
No, the device must remain unlocked and the app open for the Controller Hub to function properly.
Yes. With Controller Hub, you can use a dedicated iPhone or iPad as a visible control center for Apple Home. It complements your existing Apple Home setup, but it does not replace the Apple Home hub that HomeKit and Matter still require.
